Egyptian mobile firm Orascom Telecom said on Thursday it was not party to any discussions with telecoms group Vimpelcom, responding to inquiries from the bourse, a stock exchange statement said.
The bourse requested an explanation from Orascom about a report in Russian newspaper Kommersant that said Vimpelcom may buy Italy’s No.3 mobile operator Wind and 51 percent of Orascom from tycoon Naguib Sawiris.
