CAIRO: Egypt’s Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) said on Monday it had won a $60 million contract for offshore works of an oil and gas power plant with its 50-percent owned BESIX unit.
The plant, in the Red Sea coastal town of Ain Sukhna, is owned by the state-owned East Delta Electricity Production Company and should be finished within two years, Orascom said in a statement.
Civil works on the project will include building three pipelines with a total length of 5.1 kilometers, it added. The company said it would try to secure similar contracts as governments in the region put more money into power programs.
