CAIRO: Ismaili manager Mark Wotte asks CAF to alter the timing of his side’s crucial Champions League tie at Nigeria’s Heartland for the sake of his fasting players.
The Dervishes revived their continental hopes with a 2-1 home victory over their visitors on Sunday night, but will have to play in broad daylight in the return leg in Nigeria.
"The Nigerian team set 3pm for the return game, which will be extremely difficult for the players who are fasting," Wotte said after Sunday’s win.
"I can’t ask the players to break their fasting because it is a personal issue. But I hope CAF can make a change."
Ismaili, who have three points in third place, will face the Nigerian champions on the 27th of August.
Heartland have never lost at home in an African competition.
