CAIRO: Mido could be earning no salary with Ajax if his impending move to the Amsterdam club was completed.
"If he comes, it will cost us nothing. And people ask why is he coming?!" Ajax commercial director Henry van der Aat was quoted by Dutch media.
Mido joined West Ham on a short-term spell from Middleborough last season, earning a nominal £1000 per week with the London club.
The 27-year-old forward said he just wanted to ‘play football’ and this seems to be his objective once again this term.
He is believed to be desperate to re-join his old club after ending a bleak spell with English Championship side Middlesbrough.
Even though he passed a medical at the Amsterdam Arena, the move has yet to be completed as the Egyptian is resolving a problem related to his tax status.
