CAIRO: Ahly midfielder Moataz Eno revealed a loan offer from Libya’s Ittihad but was happy to have it rejected by the Egyptian champions.

The 25-year-old is considered an outsider in Ahly’s star-studded midfield as he was surprised to learn that his services are still needed by manager Hossam Al-Badri.

"The manager refused to let me join Ittihad Tripoli on loan and said he wants to keep me during the upcoming period," Eno told FilGoal.com.

"I was very happy indeed. Honestly I expected him to allow me to leave because there are many players in my position, but he insisted to keep me.

"The manager’s will is parallel to mine. I have no intention of leaving Ahly. I have a lot to give for the team."

Eno spent most of last season on the sidelines following a cruciate ligament operation earlier this year.

He has a lot to prove in order to win a place in Al-Badri’s starting eleven, following the arrivals of Egypt midfield duo Hossam Ghaly and Mohamed Shawky this summer.
