CAIRO: ENPPI’s ambitions for the current season are sky high, according to assistant manager Mahmoud Saleh.
The petroleum side came back from behind to stun Zamalek 3-1 on Monday and climb to third place in the Egyptian league table.
While the victory has marked their first-ever triumph over the Whites, ENPPI coach Saleh believes it also reflects the team’s ambitions for the season.
"The big win is a message for all that our ambitions are as far as winning the league title," said the former Ahly defender, who assists Bulgarian manager Stoycho Mladenov.
"We were the better team and we deserved our win. This season’s ENPPI is totally different."
ENPPI’s best ever league position came in the 2004-2005 season when they finished second behind Ahly under the management of Taha Basri.
