Marks & Spencer will open their first Egypt store within 12 months in the Dandy Mega Mall on the outskirts of Cairo in conjunction with its franchise partner Al Futtaim, the group said in a statement.
Trading over 2,600 square meters, the new store will offer a selection of family fashion, beauty and home products.
Jon Knight, Marks & Spencer international area manager, said: “We’re delighted to be entering into the Egyptian market later this year. Our franchise partner Al Futtaim group already have a number of stores in the region and we are really pleased to have secured such great shopping locations for these new stores.”
Marks & Spencer, a UK brand, will then open its flagship store in the Cairo Festival City shopping mall in the spring of 2012; the new store will trade from 4,400 square meters over two floors.
Festival City is located just fifteen minutes away from Cairo’s International Airport and is a three million square meter development offering a mix of retail, entertainment and luxury facilities.
The new stores will showcase an extensive range of fashions and accessories across womenswear, including the popular Autograph and Indigo Collection ranges. The stores will also offer a wide range of menswear, childrenswear, lingerie and homeware.
