CAIRO: Ajax coach Martin Jol says Mido’s playing time with the Eredivisie side depends on his level of performance.
The 27-year-old made a return to Amsterdam Arena on a year-long pay-as-you-play deal this summer shortly after he parted ways with Middlesbrough by mutual consent.
When asked about his plans for Mido, Jol replied: "It depends on how good he will be."
The Dutch tactician reiterated that the main reason why Mido was brought back to Ajax is that the Dutch giants could not afford to land pricey strikers.
"We could not get strikers that would cost us money. I am pleased that Mido has so much ambition in this reality.
"He (Mido) gets no salary, so eventually it makes no difference."
