CAIRO: Sunderland manager Steve Bruce seems more than satisfied with the progress of Ahmed Elmohamady as he expects the Egypt wing-back to further develop his game.

"He is something different to what we have got. He has got 30 caps for his country and Egypt are ninth in the world," said Bruce.

"He has got blistering pace – he is a little bit naive at times and he has to learn the game, but then again, he is only 23.

"We need time with him to let him settle in, but he has hit the ground running. I know he wants to be a player – he has got a great attitude for it."

Elmohamady, on loan from ENPPI, started all of Sunderland’s Premier League games so far and looks on course to win a permanent deal at the Stadium Light.

He has been declared fit to face Arsenal on Saturday after shaking off a minor injury sustained in the 1-1 draw at Wigan.
