Egypt’s El Sewedy Cables said on Sunday it would distribute a dividend of three bonus shares for every 10 held on Oct. 5 to investors holding shares as of Oct. 4.
The largest Arab cable maker by market value said in April the bonus shares would boost capital by 29.5 percent.
In May last year, the firm paid a LE 1 ($0.175) cash dividend.
Net profit at Sewedy jumped 53 percent in the second quarter to LE 270.1 million after it took business from rivals weakened by the global economic slowdown.
The firm has production plants in Egypt and 10 other countries and exports to the Middle East and North Africa, Spain, Portugal, eastern Europe and Brazil.
