CAIRO: Ahly boss Hossam Al-Badari believes that his men lost 1-0 at Esperance in the CAF Champions League semi finals because the match was fixed.
Mickael Eneramo flagrantly extended his arm while diving to poke home from point-blank range and give the Tunisian side a narrow victory that saw them reach the Champions League final.
Referee Joseph Lamptey allowed the goal to stand although the Nigerian striker handball was quite blatant.
After the match, Al-Badri accused the Ghanaian official of being deliberately biased.
"The game was over before the kickoff. I feel sorry because we play football in Africa, where referees do whatever they want," he told Egyptian radio.
"Of course I’m not satisfied with the refereeing, and with all due respect Esperance didn’t deserve to qualify for the competition final.
"We didn’t put in a good performance but neither did they."
