CAIRO: Zamalek striker Amr Zaki has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Egyptian Premier League match with Police Union as he needs more time to overcome his knee problem.
The Bulldozer was sidelined for up to two weeks after sustaining a knee injury in a friendly match with Shams on October 14.
Having undergone medical tests on Monday, Zaki felt pains in his injured knee and thus won’t be able to feature against Police.
"I informed the technical staff that I’m still suffering the same pain, so they decided to leave me out in order to avoid injury aggravation," the 27-year-old told FilGoal.com.
Now Ahmed Gaafar and Zamalek’s summer arrival Abou Kone, who has just recovered from injury, are the only two marksman at head coach Hossam Hassan’s disposal.
The White Knights will go unopposed on top of the league table should they win their anticipated match against Police.
