Egypt’s producer price index rose 21.9 percent in the 12 months to October, compared to a rise of 14.1 percent in the 12 months to September, a government website showed on Wednesday.
The state statistics agency CAPMAS gave the following values for the producer price index, which is based on 100 for the 2004/05 financial year:
October 2010 188.5 September 2010 173.9 October 2009 154.6 (The figure for October is preliminary).
The government started the new index in October 2007, replacing the old wholesale price index.
