CAIRO: Hussein Yasser needs to go under the knife in order to repair a dislocated shoulder despite insisting not to do so, according to Zamalek doctot Mostafa Al-Monayeri.

The Qatar forward was injured in a Gulf Cup of Nations match with Saudi Arabia and was ruled out for up to three weeks.

But the 28-year-old insisted on having no surgery in an attempt to be fit for the Cairo derby clash with Ahly on December 31.

"Yasser needs surgery but refuses this option because he doesn’t want to be out for a long time," Zamalek doctort Al-Monayeri told FilGoal.com.

"We shall be working with him through natural rehab exercises.

"Although there is no danger of aggravation if he didn’t have surgery, the injury could be worse with tough challenges. So he needs to be very careful."

Yasser, who dislocated his shoulder during his Ahly days, risked the wrath of the Zamalek management when he decided to join Qatar without his club’s consent last month.

Apart from his injury problems, the former Manchester City winger is expected to be sanctioned by Zamalek in the near future.
