Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame Monday, as her latest director praised her as a "strange acting alien" who can turn on a performance at will.
"This city is so much a part of my heart and soul, and the idea that my grandchildren can one day come and see my name on the sidewalk is very overwhelming," said Paltrow, who won an Oscar for 1998’s "Shakespeare in Love."
Shana Feste, writer and director of her latest movie "Country Strong," said Paltrow was "like a strange acting alien that was created to perform," adding: "Everyone on set was constantly amazed by her process.
"You could be having the most mundane conversation about the weather, and she hears the word ‘action,’ and she would deliver the most nuanced, layered, heartbreakingly beautiful scene and look at you like she just tied her shoe."
Tim McGraw, Paltrow’s co-star in "Country Strong," said: "Gwyneth’s one of the most genuine, warm and normal people that I’ve ever met. She inspires goodness and that’s the best kind of friend that you can have."
