CAIRO: Coach Mostafa Younes has quit Egypt’s U-20 team for the sake of his media job, FilGoal.com has learnt.

The former Ahly star informed Egyptian FA chairman Samir Zaher of his decision to resign after a meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

His resignation came just few weeks after the EFA said Younes had decided to snub his media work and carry out his duties as Egypt’s U-20 team manager.

The EFA’s regulations prohibit managers of national teams from working as TV presenters.

Younes helped Egypt qualify for the African Youth Championship after a 3-1 aggregate victory over Senegal.

The tournament will take place in Libya in March 2011.
