Egypt opens three electricity stations in South Sudan

Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younes announced on Monday in Cairo the opening of three power stations in the cities of Wau, Yambio and Bor in South Sudan, according to the African Press Agency.

Younes told reporters Monday that the establishment of these stations comes with a grant offered by Egyptian government worth LE 158 million ($30 million) to bring electricity to the cities of southern Sudan.

Younes added that the fourth station will be opened in Rumbek City in February.
