Egypt’s exports of garments and textiles to the United States through the end of October 2010 increased 11 percent to reach $857 million, up from last year’s $770 million, according to trade ministry data.
Beltone Financial reported that this was a result of a 16 percent increase in export volumes of textiles and yarns, and a 20.6 percent increase in export volumes of carpets and furnishings.
The report showed that Egypt now ranks among the highest exporters of textiles and garments to the US, according to Beltone.
