Al-ARISH: The Libyan aid ship, Al-Marwa, has arrived at the Egyptian Al-Arish Sea Port early Thursday carrying four truck loads of supplies to be delivered to Gaza, sources at the port confirmed to Daily News Egypt.

Al-Marwa was carrying the Jerusalem 5 aid convoy, which includes around 50 tons of pharmaceutical medicines and various other medical supplies, equipment for people with special needs, electrical supplies, baby formula, and two ambulances. Seventeen Libyan activists are also onboard the convoy.

“Volunteers from the Egyptian Red Crescent helped unload the cargo in order to get into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing,” said Jerusalem 5 Spokesperson and Head of Libya’s Journalists Union Salema Ahmad Ash-Sha’ab.

The Egyptian Red Crescent will be taking the aid and delivering it to the Palestinian Red Crescent, which will distribute it to hospitals and others in need of the supplies throughout Gaza.

The Egyptian Red Crescent has continuously coordinated with its Palestinian counterpart and the concerned authorities to assist in the delivery of humanitarian aid donations to Gaza, according to a press statement.
