CAIRO: Arafa Holding, Egypt’s biggest garment exporter, said on Monday that all of its production facilities had started running again as of Saturday.

The firm said it halted operations at its Goldentex facilities in the 10th of Ramadan area in the outskirts of Cairo for six days from Jan. 29 through Feb. 3, butkept most of its facilities running during nearly two weeks of protests.

"We expect a shipment lag of almost a week predominately due to the logistical interruption that took place at the shipping harbors last week," Arafa said in a statement.

"However, we are pleased to state that product shipments by sea and air have been initiated effective Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011," it added.
