CAIRO: Egypt sold LE 6.5 billion ($1.1 billion) worth of 91-day and 266-day treasury bills on Sunday, the third such auction after banks reopened from a week-long closure caused by political unrest.
The central bank covered the entire amount it initially offered. The average yield on the 91-day bills declined to 10.949 percent from 10.972 percent at an auction last week. The yield on the 266-day bills was 11.676 percent.
The bank sold LE 3 billion of 91-day bills and LE 3.5 billion of 266-day bills.
