CAIRO: Egypt’s state-owned Sugar and Integrated Industries Company (SIIC) has sugar stocks to last until October, Hussein Mohamed, the firm’s purchasing manager said.
"There is no impact from the recent events. The factories were operating at normal levels," he told Reuters, referring to protests since Jan. 25 that drove President Hosni Mubarak from power.
"For sure we have enough sugar until October," he said, adding that Egypt’s production capacity was more than 15,000 tons a day.
