Egypt mobile phone ownership up 25 pct in year to Nov

CAIRO: The number of Egyptians with mobile telephones grew to 66.87 million as of November, 25 percent up from a year earlier, according to figures published on a government website.

Egypt is the Arab world’s most populous country, with about 79 million people.

In November 2009, Egypt’s three mobile operators – Etisalat Egypt, Mobinil and Vodafone Egypt – had 53.682 million subscribers.
