CAIRO: Egypt’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday told its embassies in Arab, European Union and Western countries to seek a freeze on the assets of former Egyptian President
Hosni Mubarak and his family, the ministry said.
Egypt’s public prosecutor had asked the Foreign Ministry on Monday to ask foreign states to freeze the assets and accounts of Mubarak, his wife and two sons, as well as their wives.
The Foreign Ministry statement added judicial authorities in the relevant countries would be contacted to proceed with the asset freeze.
