CAIRO: Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Samir Al-Sayyad met this week with ambassadors of England, Turkey and Hungary to discuss a scheme to attract investments to Egypt and open new markets for local exports, according to a statement.
Officials talked of ways to expand mutual industrial and trade cooperation, namely in fields of technology transfer, training, manufacture of production line equipment locally as well as increasing joint SMEs on a sectoral basis, the ministry statement read.
Al-Sayyad met with British ambassador Dominic Asquith on ways to boost joint integrated, small and medium-sized industries, and was invited to co-chair the Egyptian-British Council in London next June.
With Turkish ambassador Hussein Botsali, Al-Sayyad stressed the activation of the signed free trade agreement between the two nations.
Hungarian ambassador to Cairo Peter Kevec expressed willingness to cooperate in electrical equipment manufacture, technology transfer, pharmaceuticals and animal production.
