CAIRO: Egypt’s Raya Technology and Communication posted a 2.4 percent rise in 2010 net profit to LE 42.3 million ($7.10 million), the stock exchange said on Wednesday.

Last October, the firm told Reuters it expected its call center and real estate development businesses to boost its annual net profit by at least 10 percent.

Raya, which sells mobile handsets, runs call centers and provides outsourced IT services, made a net profit of LE 41.3 million in 2009.

The firm said in a statement it will propose distributing one bonus share for every 30 held and delaying a cash dividend distribution at a shareholder meeting scheduled for April 27.

Shares of Raya inched 0.4 percent lower to 4.5 pounds, while Egypt’s EGX70 index closed up 0.3 percent.
