CAIRO: Egypt’s producer price index rose 20.61 percent in the 12 months to April, compared to a rise of 20.44 percent in the year to March, a government website showed on Sunday.
The state statistics agency CAPMAS gave the following values for the producer price index, which is based on 100 for the 2004/05 financial year: April 2011, 197.2; March 2011, 189.7; and April 2010, 163.5
The government started the new index in October 2007, replacing the old wholesale price index.
