Cairo: Egypt’s central bank said it sold LE 5 billion ($841.84 million) in domestic treasury bills on Sunday, less than the LE 5.5 billion it was seeking (CBEY).
The bank sold LE 2 billion of 91-day T-bills at an average yield of 11.598 percent, up a fraction from 11.561 percent at last week’s auction. The same amount it had asked for.
The bank also sold 3 billion pounds of 266-day T-bills, at an average yield of 12.866 percent, also up a fraction from 12.762 percent at last issue on May 10. It had sought bills worth LE 3.5 billion.
