CAIRO: Ahly will open talks with Harras Hodoud star Ahmed Eid at the end of the season, out of respect to the Alexandrian club.
The league holders declared interest in the 30-year-old winger recently, with his contract running out in January 2012.
“We said before that we’re interested in Eid’s services, but we decided to postpone negotiations until the end of the season,” Ahly football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz told FilGoal.com.
“Our relationship with Hodoud is strong, so we will not talk to the player now out of respect to his club ahead of such a crucial stage in the season.”
Eid spent most of the year on the sidelines due to a serious knee injury, but returned to action in the 3-0 defeat to Ahly last month.
Hodoud, the cup champions, have been significantly underachieving so far this term as they lie 12th of the league table, just a couple of points off the relegation zone.
