CAIRO: Emaar Misr announced the return of a group of consultants and experts from Emaar Hospitality Group (EHG) — subsidiary company to Emaar PJSC — from Marassi to put the final touches on tenders for the construction of the hotels.

The hotels and facilities in Marassi will be operated by Emaar Hospitality Group.

Hazem Ashry, GM of Emaar Misr, discussed Emaar’s plans to open bidding for the construction of these hotels, which he said represent substantial investments into the Egyptian economy. The company is in the final stages of drafting these tenders and is awaiting the authorization from the relevant parties to launch them.

He said 7,000 new jobs will be created during the construction phase and over 6,600 new jobs during the operation phase in the hotels alone.

Ashry continued “Marassi’s master plans call for a capacity of thousands of hotel rooms, turning the North Coast into a year-round tourist destination frequented by visitors from across the globe.”

Patrick Heuze, CEO of Emaar Hospitality Group, highlighted the importance of tourism investment in this crucial time and creating new destinations in Egypt to attract tourists.

Walid El Hindi, development director for Marassi, said dozens of units have already been handed over in the North Coast development, adding that over 4,500 workers are currently on site, the bulk involved in finishing work in the Catania and Arezzo villages.

Work is focused on cutting down the delays that have resulted since January, he added.
