CAIRO: Lecico Egypt has settled its labor stoppage and all Khorshid factories are now fully operational, according to a statement released Thursday.
The workers’ strike at its Khorshid plants, which lasted for nine days, has now ended.
Production from Khorshid accounts for 30 percent of the group’s total sanitary ware production, or 1.8 million pieces of capacity out of 6.6 million pieces total capacity, the firm said. It also comprises 74 percent of total tile production, or 21.4 million square meters out of 28.9 million square meters total capacity.
This total capacity is expected to be operational in August as the company is still building up to full utilization of its new tile factory in Borg El Arab, the statement added.
