CAIRO: Revenue from Egypt’s Suez Canal rose 11 percent year on year to $449.2 million in July, up 0.9 percent from a month earlier, a government portal showed on Wednesday.
Revenue in July 2010 was $406.2 million. In June 2011 it was $445.2 million.
The waterway is a vital source of foreign currency in Egypt, along with tourism, oil and gas exports and remittances from Egyptians living abroad.
