AL-ARISH: A group of masked gunmen fired at Deputy Agriculture Minister Mohamed Saad in his car on the way to the office in the city’s Agriculture Directorate.
The gunmen stopped the car and fired four shots. The driver who barely survived the shooting drove Saad to Al-Arish General Hospital as the gunmen disappeared inside Arish’s fields.
Sources at the hospital said that Saad’s condition is unstable, as he underwent several operations after being shot in four different parts of his body.
North Sinai Governor Abdel Wahab Mabrouk, the governorate’s Military Consultant and police and army officials went to the hospital to follow up on Saad’s condition as the North Sinai Security Directorate started investigating the incident.
