AL-ARISH: Teachers in South Sinai continued their partial and full strikes for the sixth day mainly in preparatory and secondary schools despite attempts by officials in the Education Directorate, the governor and members of the Muslim Brotherhood group to pressure them to end the strike.

Teachers are still insisting on not entering classrooms and only sign the attendance logs.

Parents reportedly stopped sending their children to schools after they were sent back early over the past days.

Member of the Independent Teachers Syndicate Ashraf El-Hefny said that the strike is getting stronger. They are planning to escalate by holding a million-man march on Sunday.

"We are determined to continue our strike until all our demands are met," said El-Hefny.
