CAIRO: The Alexandria Urgent Cases Court adjourned on Sunday the Al-Qeddesine Church bombing case to Nov.13 to prepare the case documents.

The Orthodox Church’s Holy Synod in Alexandria filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, Minister of Interior Mansour El-Essawy and Prosecutor General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud demanding the government and Mahmoud to announce the results of the investigations into the bombing of the Church of the Two Saints which left 24 dead and tens injured on New Year’s Eve.

The complaint also asked Mahmoud to order the Ministry of Interior to complete the investigations, indict the suspects and interrogate former minister of interior Habib El-Adly for the inadequate security of churches.

The complaint also questions El-Adly’s decision to release of the suspects arrested on the heels of the bombings.

The lawyer representing the Orthodox Church in Alexandria Joseph Malak told Daily News Egypt in a telephone interview that the court allowed the church’s lawyers to acquire a copy of the case’s investigation report by state security to get the latest updates on the investigations.
