CAIRO: Egypt’s central bank sold LE 5.5 billion ($914.93 million) in domestic treasury bills on Thursday, the same amount it had offered, the Ministry of Finance said.

The central bank sold LE 2 billion of 182-day T-bills at an average yield of 14.704 percent, down from 14.648 percent at last issue on Nov 29.

It also sold LE 3.5 billion of 364-day T-bills at an average yield of 15.193 percent, up from 14.071 percent at the last issue on Nov. 15.

The bank cancelled last week’s auction for both 182-day and 364-day T-bills.

The central bank sells T-bills on behalf of the Finance Ministry.
