Cityscape Egypt opens next week, in association with Next Move

CAIRO: Cityscape Egypt, in association with Next Move, is gearing up to open its inaugural exhibition and conference on February 20, at the Cairo International Convention Center.

Taking place February 20-23, Cityscape Egypt/Next Move 2012 will convene investors and real estate professionals to talk the sectors related to the industry.

The exhibition and conference will allow industry professionals, consumers, private and institutional investors, businesses and end users insight into Egypt’s market.

Exhibitors include Talaat Mostafa Group, Palm Hills, Moharram Bakhoum, Citystars, SODIC, Hyde Park (DAMAC), Al Ahly For Real Estate, Asset real estate, Al-Futtaim Group, Emaar Misr for Development S.A.E, Orascom Hotels & Development, Tiba Group, Rooya Group and Yafamac Tourism Company.

Cityscape Egypt will also feature real estate agents including Coldwell Banker and Dar Al Zain as well as mortgage institutions such as Al Ahly. Financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds, and risk investment firms including the World Bank and JP Morgan will be represented.

The Egypt East Real Estate Summit will provide a forum where leading experts will discuss a number of topics including an analysis of the country’s financial and real estate markets, the economic outlook, government priorities, upcoming projects and opportunities.

The Chairman of the General Authority for Investment (GAFI), Osama Saleh, will outline the policies to increase investment security, stimulate inbound investment and also create new opportunities for regional and international investors.

“With over a million residential units still required to meet the acute housing shortage, the mortgage and affordable housing sectors will be a major focus for the event,” organizers said in a statement.

Experts from Mortgage Finance Fund, Orascom Housing Communities, Emaar Misr and others will discuss the policies and financing needed to develop the market, and opportunities for the private sector to be involved.

Cityscape Egypt will also host the Retail City Egypt Conference on Feb. 22, a two-day learning and networking event for the Egyptian retail community.
