The Egyptian Dar Al-Iftaa’ institute has launched a campaign in response to misconceptions in the United States and Europe of Islam and the prophet Muhammad. The Institute is producing a book in English aimed at journalists who are interested in covering stories in the Middle East and Islamic world.
Dar Al-Iftaa’ spokesman Mohamed Nejm said on Monday, “the book is set to be a source of information for non-muslim journalists about Islam, and with the corporation of the biggest news agencies worldwide the book will be printed and distributed by the beginning of 2013.”
The campaign is being launched in response to the film Innocence of Muslims, which caused clashes and attacks on the American embassies and in interests across the world by Muslims incensed by the film’s portrayal of the prophet Muhammad.
