In the midst of the palm trees, street vendors, gazillions of cars and the occasional donkey glimpses of Christmas can be found.
As most of the country goes about its business, boughs of holly, fat Santas, occasional reindeers and shiny presents make surprise appearances. Every once in a while you can spot a large pine tree, glittering with tinsel, ornaments and many twinkling lights.
Notwithstanding overwhelming evidence of the contrary, it is said to be the time of year for peace on earth and goodwill towards all men, and we can all do with a little of that.
So from all of us, Merry Christmas!
