Clashes in Alexandria, Cairo and Kafr Al-Sheikh, Saturday night, have resulted in 113 people injured. One person was also reported dead as a result of fierce fighting in front of the presidential palace in Heliopolis.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population spokesperson, Ahmed Omar, 46 patients were still receiving treatment in hospitals.

Hundreds in Alexandria gathered in front of the security directorate to protest against the treatment of Hamada Saber, the man who was caught on camera being beaten and dragged on the ground naked by police at the presidential palace on Friday.

People chanted for the downfall of the regime, and a purging of the ministry of interior. Protesters demanded the ministry be held accountable for the recent events around the country before police began using tear gas to disperse the crowd.

The presidential palace clashes, Saturday night, resulted in 88 injuries, Omar said. The wounded were taken to several different hospitals across the city. In Tahrir Square, 11 were reported injured, five of which were transported to the Al-Qasr Al-Eini Hospital.

The clashes outside the presidential palace began after hundreds of protesters called for the downfall of President Mohamed Morsi. After security forces inside the palace fired tear gas into the crowds, protesters returned the canisters by throwing them over the palace walls.

Injuries were also reported in Kafr El-Sheikh, where according to the health ministry 13 people were confirmed injured after clashing with police. Another injury was recorded in Port Said, although no clashes were reported in the area on Saturday.

Clashes around the country have largely died down since two weeks ago when thousands began protesting around the country on the second anniversary of the 25 January Revolution.
