Seven killed in car blast near Turkey-Syria border

ANKARA (AFP) – Seven people were killed and 30 wounded when a car exploded on Monday near the border between Turkey and Syria, the local mayor said.

A Syrian-registered car is believed to have been at the centre of the blast on Turkish soil, mayor Huseyin Sanverdi told the NTV news agency. Dozens of ambulances were dispatched to the scene at the Cilvegozu border crossing in the southern province of Hatay.
