Muhammad Sharif Malak Zada, president of the Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Iranian Tourism Organisation, and Egyptian Tourist Minister Hisham Zazu’a recently signed a tourism cooperation agreement in Cairo after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad’s recent visit to Egypt.

Both sides agreed to host tourist exchange programs through private tourist companies and travel agents.

President Ahmedinejad expressed his confidence that the Egyptian people would be able to overcome the problems currently facing them, stating that “the Egyptian people have always been world leaders and their efforts will be met with success”. After meeting Zazu’a, he added that the agreement would “serve the interests of peace, security and brotherhood in the region”.

He went on to say that when the Egyptian and Iranian people stand together there is nothing they cannot accomplish, describing the tourism sector as one of the most promising fields of cooperation between the two countries.
