TE Data has been awarded the ISO 27001:2005 ISMS certificate for statistics and cyber security management. The certificate was awarded only two years after the company’s acceptance of the ISO 2008/2009 certificate, granted for its work in “designing and developing advanced telecommunications services”.
TE Data stated that such an award “reflects the company’s acute concern for our clients’ cyber security”, and signalled its intent to maintain its status as a top provider of advanced internet and telecommunications services, keeping pace with international advancements in technology.
Mohamed Al-Nawawi, CEO and managing director of Telecom Egypt, TE Data’s parent company, said that the company’s current strategy is based on “providing the highest level of cyber security services to its clients, particularly to companies and financial institutions that rely on advanced information technology to conduct business”.
He added that the company’s acceptance of the certificate came at a time when Telecom Egypt, TE Data, and its various branches and subsidiaries are seeking to place new legal controls and regulations on TE Data’s cyber security operations in order to improve service for those clients working in Egypt’s business sector.
Tamer Gadallah, the managing director of TE Data, stated that acceptance of the ISO 27001:2005 ISMS certificate reflected the company’s determination to uphold and apply the highest international safety standards regarding the products and services they offer.
