Ingredients
• 1 cup white sugar – sok-kar
• 2 cups flour – de-‘ee’
• 1 cup oil – zeit
• 1 cup milk – la-ban
• 2 eggs – beid
• 2 teaspoons baking powder – ba-king pow-der
• 1 teaspoon vinegar – khal
• 2 teaspoons vanilla – va-nil-ya
• 2 tablespoons cocoa powder – bo-dret ka-kow
• 1 pinch of salt – malh
• cooking oil spray – spray zeit
Directions
• Preheat the oven to 175C.
• Beat the eggs with an electric mixer for one minute.
• Add the vanilla and vinegar to the eggs and beat again.
• Add the oil, milk and sugar and beat for another minute.
• Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together in a separate bowl.
• Make a hole in the middle of the dry ingredients and pour the liquid mixture into it. Beat for one minute.
• Separate the mixture in half in two separate bowls.
• Add the cocoa powder to one of the bowls and mix until it has a chocolate-like consistency.
• Spray a pan with cooking spray and add half the white mixture to a cake pan. Add the chocolate mixture and then add the second half of the white mixture on top.
• Swirl a fork gently through the layers to create a marble effect, do not mix completely!
• Place the cake pan in the middle of the oven and bake the cake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
