At the checkpoint, local security forces ambushed the attackers to apprehend the men, who fired at port security members and police forces in response.
Police forces injured one man, who was shot in the jaw and taken to Al-Arish hospital, while the rest of those apprehended were taken to the local police headquarters.
A public prosecutor was tasked with launching an investigation into the matter.
