Amid protests from secular MPs, the Shura Council voted in its Saturday session to refer proposed amendments to the judiciary law to its Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Affairs for discussion. (Photo by: Ahmed Al-Malky)

Dozens of demonstrators gathered by the Shura Council building, which was surrounded by Central Security Forces trucks and units, in protest of the amendments. Popular Current Leader Hamdeen Sabahy, Al-Dostour Party Founding Member George Ishak and NSF Spokesperson Hussein Abdel Ghany participated in the protest.
