Central Security Forces (CSF) arrested 25 people during clashes on Friday night outside the Shepheard Hotel near the United States embassy.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the arrests came after a group of unidentified youths attacked cars and threw stones and Molotov cocktails at CSF. The CSF responded by firing tear gas to force the assailants away from the US embassy towards Qasr Al-Nil Bridge.

The statement added that three vehicles were damaged including one belonging to the Public Transport Authority. The arrested will face charges.
