Police forces Tuesday afternoon found an explosive device under Al-Gamaa Bridge in Giza near Cairo University.
According to Major General Hani Abdel Latif, the head of the Ministry of Interior’s media office, the bomb was a “simple hand grenade”. It was found by police forces and quickly disabled by specialists.
“Investigations are currently taking place to find who created it and why,” said Abdel Latif. He added police have no proof that there is a link between the bomb and the pro-Morsi demonstrations nearby at Cairo University.
