Several members of Tamarod have decided to leave the campaign on the grounds that its stated goal, withdrawing confidence from former president Mohamed Morsi, had been met.
“[Those who left Tamarod] believe that its role is done,” said Mai Wahba, Tamarod media coordinator.
She added that after the Morsi’s ouster, the campaign has become a “movement that is calling for the continuation” of the revolution and its demands, adding that a restructuring would be needed to transition Tamarod from a campaign into a political movement.
Wahba could not confirm the exact number of members who resigned.
