On Monday, the New Cairo Criminal Court acquitted political activist and 6 April Youth Movement member, Hamada-Al Masry of attacking Abdel Rahman Ezz while being in possession of weapons and attempting to break into Boulak Abul Ella police station.

Al-Masry was accused of attacking Islamist Ezz while visiting teenage activist Mohanad Samir in the hospital in January and was arrested in February following clashes in front of Boulak Abul Ella police station. He was accused of attempting to break into the police station after being dragged and stabbed within it.

On May 25 Al-Masry was released from prison pending the final court sentence.
